2 Inmates dead, 1 Prison Officer injured after “human error” at an Oklahoma Private Prison

According to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, human error is to blame after a deadly fight breaks out at a privately-ran Lawton prison last Friday. Two inmates were killed, three more injured, and one correctional employee was injured in the incident.

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections said in a statement “human error” at the facility run by the GEO Group led to “security threat groups” inadvertently coming into contact.

Friday’s prison violence is being investigated by the Department of Corrections Office of Inspector General.
