On March 18, 2024 two correctional officers were attacked by inmates in two separate incidents.
Inmate Armenta resisted being placed in handcuffs by a correctional officer. During the struggle, the officer was forced to move the resisting inmate to the ground when the inmate was able to gain advantage over the officer. Armenta positioned himself on top of the officer and began to repeatedly punch the officer in the face. After the incident, the officer became disoriented and was transported to outside medical.
In another incident, Inmate Lopez punched as correctional officer in the chest. The inmate was contained without major incident or serious injuries.
