Two correctional officers at San Quentin Rehabilitation Center were injured in an attack by an inmate on Thursday, April 24.
Inmate Miguel Landa began punching two officers who were observing movement for the evening meal. Staff immediately quelled the incident using physical force. No weapon was used in the attack.
The two officers were transported to an outside medical facility for a higher level of treatment. They were released later and are OK.
Inmate Landa was re-housed in the restricted housing unit for this unprovoked attack on staff.
