Folsom State Prison inmate uses handcuffs to attack and injure an officer

On Saturday, August 23, an inmate at Folsom State Prison caused serious injury to an officer during an escort.

At about 1000 hours Inmate Person Price (AA4709) was in the process of being escorted by two staff members. Price slipped his handcuffs and used them as a weapon to attack one of the officers. The inmate was able to punch and cut one of the officer’s faces. While officers fought to regain control of Price, the inmate battered another officer, but ultimately the officers were able to regain control.

The officer who was cut by Price was transported to an outside hospital and received several sutures on his face.
