The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) recently released July 2026 data regarding inmate attacks on staff. The numbers continue to show CDCR inmates attack staff in hundreds of incidents every month despite the declining population. Additionally, CDCR still refuses to acknowledge the vast majority of staff attacks inside its prisons.
July 2026 included 312 incidents of inmates battering staff and two attempted staff homicides.
