The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) has recently released its August 2025 reporting numbers. The number of staff attacks by CDCR inmates for the month reached a record number of 459 incidents. This is the largest recorded number of staff attacks the largest since The Toughest Beat started keeping track in July 2022.
